DJ AKi returned to Japan from NYC in 2001 and began the monthly party, 06S, with himself as the resident DJ at WOMB, and has gained popularity through his original hard and cyber style drum'n'bass that many UK DJs are also credited into drum 'n' bass scene in Japan. DJ AKi also has released the first mix CD in Japan, "New Type Drum+Bass 06S" in 2004, and his impeccable skills on decks were well perceived by many music lovers all over the nation. He also attended SKOL BEATS in Sao Paulo in April 2005,where his high energy and outstanding talent as a DJ made a huge impact. These 2 gigs made big impression on the worldwide drum 'n' bass scene. For the WOMB WORLD WIDE Project in 2006 , DJ AKi and KEN ISHII flew to the tour in Brazil and performed at Brazil's top clubs WARUNG und SIRENA. In the Spring 2006, he started Tokyo Original Drum 'n' Bass label "06S RECORDS".It kicked off with first release "FREE YOUR MIND"with a remix by D-BRIDGE.It is now one of the anthem tunes on the scene. Second release "LET IT GO" with Futurebound remix isdue to be released in August. Third single "INTERSTELLA ODYSSEY" produced collaborating with SONIC is due on March 2007. This will be followed by another release of “CONSTANTLY WARM” from SPACE RECORDINGS and also “ACCELERATOR” is going to be recorded in the compilation ”FUTURE SOUNDOF TOKYO” from HOSPITAL.These tracks from 06S have caught the eyes of the world musicscene and they have already been thoroughly played by the worlds leading DJs such as by ANDY C , DJ MARKY and ED RUSH. DJ AKi’s contributed his exclusive MIX CD for collaboration with the ”GARCIA MARQUEZ” today’s leading female fashion brand in Japan. 10,000 MIX CD were given away amongst in Japan. This Brazilian-flavored MIX CD reflects diverse influenced and inspirations that he had from various places and events and heading to next exploration to the new frontier. This MIX CD resulted in great success not only in Japan but worldwide. and took him to next level. In December 2006, “06SPACE MIXED by DJ Aki” will be released in iTunes store directed by NIKE. He started to play in Europe since 2007.He attended "Ram night" at Matter , the end London 4 times and Chibuku shake shake @ Fabric London , Paradise Factory in Manchester , @ Nation in Liver pool and Cheeky Monday in Amsterdam, Super nature festival in Selbia, Beatpatrol in Austria. In 2011 Nike sports music called "Nike+ speed Mixed by DJAKi " released in iTunes store and it became no.3 on national iTunes chart. Mixing the uplifting Hard'n'Cyber DJ style and the mellow'n'sleek lounge DJ set, DJ AKi keeps entrancing the crowd. Recognized as one of the Leading Drum'n'bass DJs from the worlds club scene and is currently recieving much attention for his current activities and future plans. They have remixed tracks for labels such as TOPBILLIN, SUBTRAX and MAD DECENT. They are closely associated with big name Japanese artists such as DEXPISTOLS, THE LOWBROWS, 80kidz, HABANERO POSSE and VERBAL of m-flo / Teriyaki Boyz. WATAPACHI soon gained popularity from an international prospective, through their unique productions and their association with fashion. In May 2013, they completed their first United States tour, consisting of shows in cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington DC, Seattle, Atlanta, Santa Cruz and others. WATAPACHI's second tour in July 2013, took place in Moscow and St. Petersburg Russia. Japan natives Noxin and Ses first encountered each other on the streets of Tokyo back in 2011 during a pick up basketball game. Though Ses hails from the northern island of Hokkaido and Noxin has called Tokyo home nearly all his life, the two quickly bonded over their passion for music. Noxin and Ses also share international backgrounds having both lived in various parts of the world, spawning musical tastes and inspirations just as diverse. In January 2012, the two decided to officially partner and Watapachi was born. Watapachi seeks to discover, share, and create new sounds drawing inspiration from all over the world.
